Strateegrrreee: Um, Contingency Planning?

A MAN OF GENIUS MAKES NO MISTAKES. HIS ERRORS ARE VOLITIONAL AND THE PORTALS OF DISCOVERY. — JAMES JOYCE

Stand on the sidewalk and watch a man bleeding to death in the street. Point at him so your friend notices. Take a picture with your iPhone. Post it on your MeFace with a clever, smart-cracker caption. Tell your friend. He makes a joke about the dirty pair of underwear in the background. Laugh as your friend leans over the dying man to tell him the joke.

While your phone rings, your friend steps over the pool of blood streaming from his body. You answer the call while your friend gets the new custom Highlander from the parking lot.

The girl on the other line tells you she has HPV and since she was a virgin, she blames you. Unfortunately, this distracts your attention. Calling her a lying whore in response, the anger is why you fail to see your  ”friend” driving off in the Eco-Friendly SUV. And of course, by the time the argument is over, the realization begins to hit that your ‘Oh-I-Forget-His-Name,’ buddy from the local bar has not picked you up like he said he would.

People are such bastards! This is the last thought you have. Everything goes black.

Waking up in the hospital, hand-cuffed to the bed, it’s reasonable to be alarmed and confused.

But then, I tell you why you are in hand-cuffs. When you begin to cry, don’t expect me to feel sorry for you or be surprised when I slap your ugly, unshaven face.

There’s no crying in Hell.
