That Is Our Lady

she is in the shadows that nobody sees

beneath the eyesight and in a corner in home long forgotten

i would not say that she wanders

she is worth enough despite the guarantee for payoff

she stays where it is warmer

whether it be her mind or the draft in the corner

and she will forgive, since forgiveness lives infinitely inside her

no regret

as the shadows cross her familiar face

and how we forget

in shadow frame the time away

and try to recognize the day

light breaks through the window

home can be so little

bits and pieces of the string

tied by the knots of fingers

holding on to something

“The web of our life is of a mingled yarn, good and ill together: our virtues would be proud, if our faults whipped them not; and our crimes would despair, if they were not cherished by our virtues.”

SKETCHY THOUGHTS:  Nothing cuter than a momma Virtue and her little baby Crime.

I don’t know much about this new technology and whether it is good or bad or indicative of the renaissance or the apocalypse, BUT, I do know how it has suddenly brought so many inspirational people out from the ether. So, thanks internet. Fight for your right to free speech by supporting creator owned content. Otherwise, we’ll have to deal with fees and free speech will be a right paid for, not an inalienable one. Worse, delegated to and by commercial entities. I like you all, so, let’s not allow for this to go away. I like learning.

like-a-cut:

I get scared because I’m alone, not because you aren’t here. I get scared because the night is lonely and things like love get lost in the darkness. Someday, my child will be scared of love, pained by love, and I’ll tell her the story of you, my first love. I’ll tell her how you shredded my insides, and blew my faith to pieces. But i’ll tell her that I thank you, because these lessons in pain are lessons i had to learn. My skin needed to learn to grow armor in place of softness.
